Field notes #2: September 28
Date: September 28, 6:45
Temp: 75°
Length of day: 11 hours, 9 minutes
Field notes:
Today was a little bit humid cloudy, but otherwise nice weather. You could hear the wind rustle the trees in the distance, but at the spot where we were, you couldn't really feel it. Overall, it was still, and the creek was hardly flowing. It had a few leaves in it, as well as a bit of driftwood. We also saw a lot of water skeeters, and frogs. Even though the ground and trees were still wet with previous rain, the creek was dying up on one side (see the picture above: right side). There were also a lot of crickets, and birds that chirped and cawed.

Field notes #1: September 1
Date: September 1, 1:30
Temp: 71°
Length of day: 13 hours, 10 minutes
Field notes:
Today was sunny and windy and really nice outside. There were a few bugs out in the air and the creek, and quite a few daddy long legs spiders. I saw lots of webs in the plants and trees, and I heard a lot of birds up there too. I also spotted a couple of toads by the creek. Other than the wind there wasn't too much movement, and the creek flowed pretty slowly. Lastly, I heard a few people on the trail as well as a couple of dogs.
Here are some more pictures of the plants and animals I saw:
